Fellow indie author here. Many indies do not put DRM restrictions on their books, even when uploaded to Amazon (it's an optional box you can check) because they value the user experience. I'll also second Itchio and other platforms as options.

I love my eufy brand cameras. No subscription, you're not forced to store on the cloud (unless you want to), and they're pretty inexpensive. You can choose plug-in or cordless models, and it's all viewable/recordable by your phone.

True! I know work is often expected from friends/family with such skills. I will say we've had a family friend who (unprompted!) just started fixing small stuff like outlets in our house and refused payment, but at least we gave him bourbon haha
I wrote a book that I've been editing and editing for years (hence why some feedback would be great). I think it would be classified as New Adult/Literary Fiction. Dips its toe into fantasy. I also make songs once in a while.
