Overkill when it comes to hunting? Did you know that the smallest caliber you can use to kill a deer is a .222... ARs are usally .223. It's actually a really small round for hunting. The AK-47 round is a 762x39 which is not much bigger than a .223. 308 or 30-06 is a better deer round and they are twice the size as a .223
