No one knows, and we're trying to find out. Some say god, some say we're just the product of the universe trying to experience itself. My theory is that if the Universe contains everything that ever can, is or was, its obvious we exist. We may just be a side-effect of everything.
Its mostly ethics and political science that can be said to be practical philosophy, everything else is usually just metaphysics or a matter of subjective feelings. I would recommend Skinner for the ethics and (I know I know, but he did write alot of goos shit) Chomsky for the political. Naomi Kleins "Shock doctrine" is also basically whats happening in the US. Same with putins plan for the world is written by Alexander Duganov something, "Geopolitics for Russia", I think. Its along time ago.
And then Wittgenstein came along to tell you not to read into the melodrama of depressed philosophers as camus, kirkegaard, and nietzche. And to regard life as you experience it yourself.
Tl;dr: Hey, shit be complex. Philosophy is learning to embrace the complexity and still be able to have a discussion with yourself about it. And alot more, but I dont have 15 000 words of space in this comment.
As a so called philosopher (some government paper says I am), he is correct. However it does gloss over the fact that most discussions and arguments you see today, or methodology you see in science, came from philosophical questions. Philosophy is rather useless if you only see the tallest trees as a solution for why life exist in a forest.
Inventing middle men is somehow become a business. Middle men deserve midddle finger only.

Worked as an intern in IT, was upgrading the wifi and intranet, sent the wrong command to the wrong switch. Took down the whole network. I got really good at programming cisco-switches in a really short time. To never make the same mistake I learned how to code and wrote a program that automated most of those types of tasks.
