There was this story in my country (europe, far from wars and US too) recently...some bigger fire in arms manufacturing plant or smth...and when they caught the suspects it was just....disgusted 25yo student...and i yea, technically it did fit the description of terrorism, it was big ass fire of warehouse that spread to some admin buildings but like...i get it. I didnt get this part. I mean one of the main characters made massive issue out of their service, Hermione tried to make them to form unions of sorts, her first kiss with Ron was after he, during the heat of battle said something like "wait we also need to save the house elves." Yea, the Hogwarts ones hey were ultimately "happy where they are" but all the ones that were slaves in the true meaning of the words were displayed as such and like...it wasnt being excused in the books? JKR is bitch but
