Yes but he was a douche bag who was (mostly) on the right side of history and when coherent had original things to say and was talented enough to articulate those thoughts. We need more people in our culture today like him IMHO.
Fun story: Prince released 3 albums around 1985, his own, one under The Time and one under The Family. His record company and manager pushed back hard against all 3 since Purple Rain was still fighting with Thriller for biggest album ever (in the end it wasnt close but in 85 it was). Prince fired his manager and in retaliation the manager asked his new protege to choose a failed Prince song she liked, he then put her whole marketing budget behind that song to get one over on Prince.
That's not true. He did it because after signing the most lucrative record deal in history he wanted to release a triple album and Warner Bros wanted it to be a single disc. He changed his name to make himself un-marketable, gave them 6 albums of material he already had that he didn't think was good enough previously to release and wrote Slave on his face until the contract was over. LOVE Prince, but that episode wasn't some badass or clever move, it was the worst period for fans.
I mean they play more music now than ever, they just launched genres into seperate channels after the reality TV boom. Its just that no-one watches music TV anymore because of YouTube.

Sure, but he's a poster boy on Imgur for mental illness and suicide. His laughing demenour hid the pain that eventually killed him. I'm just saying he had depression which he dealt with like a champ and seperately took his life due to other factors.
Stop using Williams as the poster boy for depression. He took his life because he had Parkinsons and dementia not depression.
Not true. The story on the commentary was that Sigourney offered to do it nude so the alien trying to get here was as scary as possible - but the studio pushed back, so Ridley and Signourney came up with the skimpiest outfit they could get away with to achieve the same effect.

Sadly no, it has moved a significant chunk of its movie back catalogue to being "ad-supported" that were previously ad free.
IMAX 70mm though is too big to reasonably download but there is an element of doing it old style for the sake of it. In the same way Vinyl 'feels' different to digital so those, like Nolan, claim that film with light shining through it 'looks better' than digital ever will.
My friend was confused why he couldn't see fish out the window when on the chunnel. He earns over $100k a year.
I mean Chelsea frequently gloats at how her life is better than people who have children - which is the same as this guy is doing in reverse.
Met him twice. He was really unpleasant both times. Shame, I love his work.
