with a short heating will avoid sketch connections and your wire melting back, lastly use FLUX (Kester 959T) and high lead content solder

Additionally some soldering tips, high heat, short duration and pre tinning the pads and wire leads separate and then joining them 1/2

(10.2 - 1.4) / 2 breakdown: Finish point - starting point is the length of travel for 2 revolutions then divide by 2 for 1 revolution.

If the processor heatsink is a screw down type try to loosen each screw 1/4 to 1/2 turn, AMD sockets tend to have issues with over tension.
