Speaking as a gay man, he doesn't accept you period he just barely tolerates the idea of you being gay. You can always hold hope that you will be fully accepted but its better to spend that energy building a true supportive network.

I did. I had a cat that loved to jump up and down thrning the hall light on and off. He also enjoyed turning over dishes and water bowls and taking showers.
Not to mention time. It takes time to prepare a meal. When i worked 2 full tome jobs i didnt have the time or energy to prepare meals. Id eat on the way to work or otw home at 4 am. Cant wake up the roomies at 0430 making a decent meal, dont have the energy to do it anyways. The old dollar menu was affordable and high calorie. Being poor is expensive.
When our dogs growled at us, my mothers question was always "what did you do to the dog?" And after our reaponse her reply was always "dont do that, or next time he might bite and you will deserve it."

I feel ya. I had a cat that freaked out at loud percussive noises. When a neighbor slammed his car door, she scratched the heck out of my left arm, leaving 4 bloody scratches. 2 days later i had a physical and my doctir wrote me a recommendation to see a osychologist for depression issues becauee she thought i was self harming and when i denied it, she put it into my file. So now every time i go into the doctor they ask me if i feel like hurting myself.
Ive never seen a more hateful group of people than fundamentalists.
I live and work close to the udvar hazy museum near Dulles Airport. When they flew the shuttle there they flew by 4 times. Everyone stopped work and went onto the roof to watch it. Our building was just off the flight path so we got really close looks at it. Truly a spectacle and once in a lifetime event.

As someone that has been loyal to a company: leave. Find a better place. Take yourself to a company that makes you better at what you di and treats you well.

I feel you. I ended a 20 year friendship for close to the same reasons. I refuse to stand next to a person who supports nazi ideology. Sadly that also means i don't stand with my parents anymore either. Im sorry this haplened to you, but you will be better off for it.
