I work in the beer distribution industry. A large part of the slump in alcohol sales across the board is the rise of THC drinks. We sell both beer, THC and some non alcoholic beverages. There has been a direct shift in the sales of beer and THC drinks. But, it is true that younger people aren't drinking alcohol as much, regardless of what they're buying.

I live in North Carolina and we have Amtrak, but it's not the best way to get around. Some electric busses, But a train system in larger cities would make so much more sense. I imagine living in NYC was awesome. I was 5 the only time I visited the city. All i remember was some local restaurant where a pizza cook was tossing a pizza dough. lol. This was in 1981.

Very true. I never dated in high school and my best friend since kindergarten was gay. He didn't come out until we were 21. Everyone thought I was too. I didn't care. But it's crazy how fast you get labeled if you don't fit people's expectations.

Yeah, same here. got put in the gifted class in the 6th grade. literally made an F,C,F in my first semester of 10th grade world history, and a C,F,C in my 2nd and somehow made a 106 on the final exam. I'm still convinced the teacher just wanted me out of her class.
Got stuck in the "Talented And Gifted" Program in middle school, got kicked out because I hated homework, graduated in 1994. Got diagnosed with ADHD in 2019. It changed my life and I realize that most of my life decisions would have been very different if I was managing the emotional dysregulation and executive dysfunction.
I feel like this should be on a different post. But its late and I'm too brain dead to remember. Lol good night

Consolidation has been killing NC businesses that have been here for over 100 years. I moved to Winston Salem in 2005. I worked for a dye house called Hanes Dye and Finishing which had been in business for decades. Most of the employees had been there for an average of 20 to 30 years. That same year, they announced that we were all laid off and the work got sent to India when Leggit and Platt bought us out. Many of them were forced into early retirement losing 40% of their pension.
