I won’t lie to you, I am not a smart woman.

Not for a tshirt, for a charity. But it’s really fine if it’s not for you, internet stranger! You do you ☺️

It’s like drugs, you begin skiing on the kiddie piste but as time progresses you get better and better and you’ll need to use more and more to get the same kick. Seeing this I’m thinking just develop a habit already.

When asked about wrinkles she dryly replied, my only wrinkle is the one I’m sitting on.

Well, both are true; it was inspired on her role as Mammy (after GwtW she played 50 more roles, all of them like Mammy, talk abt type casting huh) and it was made into a stereotype that way.

Fun fact: her character in Gone with the Wind inspired the house keeper in Tom & Jerry.

The protagonist in Das Parfum, a book by Patrick Süskind was called Grenouille. Great read.

It’s a rhetorical question. Stephen Fry knows what their point is.

I have been struggling to find a way for me to stand against the rise of Fascism. I am not an organizer, nor am I a follower. I can’t write protest songs or think up clever slogans, I am not an artist in any way. I came to realize what I can do is be kind. Be nicer than usual, see the homeless person for who they are, hold the door for a senior citizen.

In times of hate, love is an act of resistance. We all fight in our own way, but stand shoulder to shoulder.

Can confirm. Been cooking with my daughters from when they were the tiniest little elves and still, now 19 and 20, we love doing just that. Talk and laugh and support each other while cutting onions and tasting the soup for salt and pepper.

I tend to think these are the last, sadly violent, convulsions of the toxic patriarchy. Lashing out to everything that threatens their tenets.
Ultimately though, they will lose because generations Y and Z are, from what I see in my kids (19 and 20) and their peers. They don’t even bat an eye about someone’s identity , support each other in their exploration and experiment freely to discover their personality.
It will get worse before it gets better. But it will get better.

It’s been going on for a while now; seems like there’s a bunch of keyboard kiddies downvoting everything. Not our monkeys, not our zoo, I’d say. There more than enough love to go around.
