I worked at a warehouse a few years ago (not Amazon, another company) and it got hotter than satan's balls in the summer. I asked a supervisor, "This is a multi-billion dollar company, why aren't there any AC in this building?" He just stared blankly at me like the answer was so apparent and said, "Because there's nothing of value in the warehouse that warrants temperature control," obviously referencing the products in the warehouse. I had no idea how to respond to that and just walked away.

Those kinds of discussions are required to be in person lest we all get banned from every website lol

And yeah, those A-bombs were 100% a war crime. What military target were they going for? In Hiroshima, the "target" was Aioi Bridge - what fucking reason do we need an /atomic bomb/ to blow up a single bridge, for? No, the intent was to kill as many Japanese as possible - which is is 100% a war crime through and through.

No, they mean incinerate. The US fire-bombed major cities of Japan knowing full well that the majority of their buildings were made of wood. They can claim they were targeting this factory or that and say, "whoops!" when the fire spread across the entire city, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians each time, but you never hear about that in any school history text.

There's still a struggle ahead. But the fact that the largest city in the US has an incredibly high chance now of putting a democratic socialist in charge of the city is a historical moment, even if he doesn't win the general election. His victory here is bringing socialism to the conversation and making people take note of it. There are plenty of positives of this to take in.

This is kind of a reductionist view of what socialism is. By far, it's not just simply "when the government does stuff" or "when the government hands out money". The part of helping the working class is essential and core to its definition; when the rich give themselves government handouts, it fundamentally is not socialism in any way, shape, or form.

That was a hundred years ago before Trump and the fascists took hold of the GOP. Have faith.

I have two kids, one looks like my wife and the other looks uncannily like myself. The one who looks like me you could tell was my child right on day one just by the shape of the eyes, the shape of the nose and the proportions of the cheeks.

Some babies DO look like their parents. Others "don't" because they're a far more equal mix of both parents. It wholly depends on how the genetic lottery plays out.

They always were here to protect property. They ALWAYS were here to serve those in power.

Please for the love of god wear a helmet or some kind of head protection if you are attending these protests. The police KNOW what they are doing when they target people like this.

It never ceases to amuse me when chronically online people accuse others of being chronically online. You're arguing about politics on imgur, lmao get over yourself.

Yeah sure, I'm the problem, not the nazi influencers or the nazis in government or any other far right shit head. Just me. Right, got it.

I'm pretty confident that seeing the end result of those who go down that path will be a decent deterrent. And if it's not, they were always going to end up being a Nazi.

I'm not going to have peaceful dialogues with nazis. Risk your own life with that.

You gotta be joking about the Christian thing. Do you have any idea why Christianity got so large in the past 2,000 years? It wasn't through peaceful dialogue.

Punching nazis deters people from joining the nazis.

Schumer and half a dozen other Democratic Senators voted in FAVOR of allowing Trump to exercise the right to throw tariffs at anything and everything he pleases not a month ago now.

That's...literally the plot of the episode she makes the speech in. Watch Andor, it is fantastic and this speech is even more fantastic in the context of the arc it is apart of.

To be fair, it can be argued that Germany didn't go through denazification either when you see things like the "Myth of the clean Wehrmacht" persist to this day and the AfD continue to rise in the polls.

You clearly do not know what autism is.

Whether you count yourself or not is irrelevant to my statement. I'm sure fascists are capable of self-hate too. But when you lop the rest of the world in with it, it becomes something else.

I didn't say radicalized. I said racialized. As in, racist.

Sounds like something a fascist believes in.

"no established country"
"a new world"

There were people living here already. Just because they don't fit your racialized idea of "a country" does not mean Europeans had any right to push them off the land, genocide them, and put them in concentration camps.
