I fly planes
Survivor bias is a thing…. Ooo look at this 30 year old appliance still going. When 99% of the same model are scrapped. I just wish we had right to repair.

I dove on the Great Barrier Reef and there was one that hung out by the dive boat and came up for pets from the diver like a dog. 11/10 they’re all good dogs.
My nephew called them sustenders (suspenders) and they for ever shall be sustenders. If he gets married I’m wearing sustenders with my suit to the wedding and working it into a speech somehow.
Caping CEO pay at 35x lowest full time employee is just reason not to have full time employees. 35x of full time equivalent of lowest paid employee.
Whe I was in 22 I got a really unlucky combination infections, strep, mononucleosis that landed me in a coma for close to three weeks in the icu and then a couple of weeks in a step down ward. Total cost was the tv rental. If I were American I’d have never afforded training for my career and do a job I really enjoy. My life would have been far different.
Never have baked on dried out what ever again. At worst you get a little spill and it comes off easy enough.
Work union. I have a pay scale based on position and tenure. I can figure exactly how much anyone is getting paid in my department. As a bonus on the regular my union negotiates raises for me so I don’t have to.

Tell that to the 1000 Algoma steel workers in Canada who were just laid off due to lack of demand for their products in the USA. The US lost 8000 manufacturing jobs in December alone. Additionally if Germany and China both make a widget for $10 and suddenly the widget is $11 at your door for the German made one what do you think is going to happen? Demand has not changed but the German maker is doing to have to reduce the price to stay competitive with Chine or they will see sales drop.
Money left at the end of the month, not month left at the end of the money. I know if a major appliance lets out the magic smoke and is unrepairable I can get a new one with cash.

Sadly a couple years ago a highschool shop student in my town wanted to make a BBQ out of a drum. So the teacher said he needed to get a food grade drum so it would not have volatile explosive chemical residue. Apparently peppermint extract can be explosive. As soon as the student started to cut the barrel with the torch, the barrel exploded and the student was killed.
For a fun novel based around said events I would recommend “Final Orbit” by Chris Hadfield and actual astronaut. Though maybe read his first two, also good. “The Apollo Murders” and “The Defector”.

The Sky Train in Vancouver is not entirely above ground. In the downtown core and south towards Richmond it’s below ground. And in Toronto the express train service between Union station and Pearson Airport is officially known as the Union Person Express or UP Express.
As someone who is a 6’5” big dude I don’t think I’m that big. Then I see a group picture and I’m like jeezus fuck who is that monster. Shit it’s me.
Most motherboards these days keep 2 copies of the BIOS. So when you update there is a fallback copy.Also maybe it’s time to try Linux?
Correct. Blow the roof, assume everyone died, terrorists as well. While chaos is going on Hans and gang would escape in an ambulance hidden in the cube van the came in. Argyle the limo driver smashed the ambulance and took out the hacker/safe cracker terrorist.

Looks like the precip has stopped so a couple of trucks worth of 1. Though the runway is gunna need some work. But 2/2/2 is likely good enough for me depending on the wind and length.
Classification AI is amazing tool for Doctors, get rid of X-rays and scans that are clearly negative so that they can focus on ones they are possible positive. Same goes for bag and mail X-rays. A computer never gets tired, board, distracted or stressed. Fire off the positive ones for human verification. Always on the conservative side of course.

The pitcher Trey Yesavage, hence Savage, striking Shohei Ohtani, arguably the best player in baseball. Oh the pitcher is also a rookie who had a total of 3 major league starts prior to the post season. What he did last night was utterly epic.
