Word. I remember one winter my hands were all dry and I noticed lotion would make the callouses go away. I think I sucked it up and stopped the lotion so I could save my precious callouses lol. After 30+ years I can use lotion and the callouses are always there still. Still in love with the instrument and learning everyday. Well said, persistence and patience. Happy playing to you!

Awesome, looks great! Thanks for the info, I’ve been using food grade mineral oil blended with beeswax for my whittling. I’ll look into what you said

I realize I actually didn’t answer your question as to where to get them but I just thought I’d share some info to help narrow your initial search

Some guitar strings are easier to press than others. Hardest is usually acoustic steel string, then nylon string (classical), then electric guitar can be easy depending on string gauge. I think many try to start on acoustic but then get out off because the strings can be stiff and painful. I recommend starting on something easy to fret (press), then if they have a particular genre they want to branch off into, they can launch from there

Teaching guitar is particularly rewarding as it is really quite physically challenging as well as conceptually stimulating. Literally endless lifetime of studying the fretboard can happen. I miss teaching too

Even affirm the words of affirmation. “You’re doing great with these words of affirmation.” Affirmationception. Not even joking, there can be some self-consciousness in doing self-affirmation

Didn’t know that either! Was curious about it, I looked it up, apparently it’s to help regain nutrients. That makes sense. Still, it’s intense!
