My lab exclusively uses the 207 because it's fully endelible. So, he may be a liar, and this may just be an ad, but there is truth in there. And when I train a new chemist, I make the same point by having them sign a piece of paper in 3 different pens and rinse them in a beaker of acetone, then dichloromethane. I haven't had it go wrong yet.
I had my laboratory switch to the 207 micro 10 years ago because a chemist dropped a 4L of methanol on a DEA, and FDA controlled notebook. It rinsed all of the writing off. I tested dozens of pens and even DCM didn't bother the 207.
Right? My Miata has manual transmission and manual steering. Pumps are for chumps.
