I quickly re read the wiki to get a small refresher (anything to not work I guess), and it mostly comes down to unnecessary additions to the story. The insecure need to explain things that didn't need explaining (the Ashley Johnson cameo as Ellie's mom as an example). The run time is shorter than the game, but somehow more unfocused. There were other more subtle gross examples of Druckmann changing stuff to be creepy but i don't remember them now.
Off the top of my head despite not having watched it since its release? Tess' death was downright disrespectful. Druckmann thought it was "cool" so they put it the gratuitous mouth rape scene. It adds nothing to the story.
I can belt out a giant list of issues. That's why I said microcosm, and I didn't write off the entire show. It was fine. I liked Bella Ramsey's portrayal of Ellie. She was an excellent fit. I just said the game was better at telling the story which it was.

Yes, and no. I loved it in isolation especially how grounded and human the strawberry scene was, but I don't think it belonged in the Last of Us. The point of Bill & Frank in the game was to show where Joel was headed if he kept on isolating and pushing everyone away. The episode was just too clean and nice. Even the ending was sanitized too much. An open window cannot contend with the rot of death. It was a microcosm of the myriad of issues the episode had tonally imo. TL;DR game better
