This is a state law issue. The state SC is the final say in who gets to run for and serve in office. The feds have no say otherwise. 2/

Facts. Even if it were tilted the other way this is a steep climb. Extremely rare to see feds over turn state SC on state law issues.
In its most basic terms, this is federalism in action. The feds won’t overrule the states unless states violate US Constitution. 5/4
