Not really. All medics are EMT’s but not all EMT’s are medics. In the US, anyway. EMT-B, EMT-I, AEMT-CC, EMT-P, etc.

Nothing to do with personal choice, politics, misogyny, etc. Its 100% liability. Doctors want to minimize risk of being sued by the small percent who may change their mind. Especially in the U.S. where people like to sue for everything.
