The appropriate recourse is to lie to people about where they're being sent so they can end up on the doorstep of your political rivals. This is both the correct and mature thing to do, and not at all indicative of an intrinsic absence of empathy and moral fiber, and so any natural leader would arrive to the same conclusion. As a cis person, I recognize it as a fitting inversal of the implication people associated with the LGBTQIA+ community commonly hear from people like us that 'being queer is an illness.'
