Whose rules have they been enforcing this entire time then?

I don’t know if I’m just too “elevated,” or having a stroke, but that made zero sense to me

“A religious man goes to church on Sunday, and thinks about fishing. A spiritual man goes fishing, and thinks about god.”

I was raised as an Anglican Christian, and up until I was 12 years old, I still bought into it. I remember my older cousin telling me that he had sex with his girlfriend, and my first thought was, “Oh no! He’s gonna go to hell now!” Then, from 13 to 22, I was a strict, and explicitly anti-religious/anti-spirituality atheist. And then after learning about quantum, and theoretical physics, I had a profound, and totally subjective experience that made me a spiritual scientist now.

I typed, “Women are” into Google, and got: “Women-are-wonderful Effect,” which describes a widespread subjective bias that basically says most people, in most places, of both sexes, generally attributes more positive attributes to women, over men, in a broad, general sense. Very interesting… 🤔

If we need 4 hugs a day for survival, I should’ve died years ago… 😅

Respect the courageous soldier; condemn the politicians that send them to fight, and die in a war without honourable purpose.

Also, those rolls of sod are probably somewhat delicate, and if they were pushed over by a swing arm and unrolled a bit, gripped too tightly the wrong way, and got roughed up and disturbed, it would result in a lot of damaged, and unsellable material.

It’s a theoretical particle, assuming time travel is possible, which theoretical physics have generally accepted as being possible, without empirical evidence, or reasonable examples of causality

OMG! I started thinking Bell riots before I scrolled down. If StarTrek is describing the future, then I am prepared to endure the getting worse, before getting better, if that’s the future we will see.

They are just such intelligent, powerful, and efficient hunters, that it is awesome, and intimidating to us because we’re used to being at the top… kinda

They’re not “brutal killers,” assuming the implication was that they are malicious, and derive pleasure from it as if they’re sadistic. A carnivore species killing another animal to feed, or provide for their young, should be no more disturbing to watch as a parrot fish munching down on coral, a horse eating dandelions, or a spider trapping, and consuming a fly.

Not throughout the entire avalanche though. The density, and force dissipates eventually, leaving only “fluffy” snow suspended in the air, right?

It looked really… “fluffy?” Mostly air, like during a blizzard. I’m guessing it wasn’t dense enough to really impact, or move heavy objects, or people, although, destructive stages of avalanches can deceptively appear “fluffy” too.

This is just another way to appreciate, and enjoy nature. You sound kinda like those nature activists that criticize hunters. Little do they know; hunters are amongst the most active, and passionate stewards of nature, and the environment. Those skid marks on the rocks aren’t doing any real harm, and you could argue that walking trails cause erosion, and provide people access to pollute, and negatively affect the environment too.

Two months ago, I heard a car crash outside of my house and I came out to four people dying/dead in cars so mangled up we couldn’t even get at them. All I could do was try to comfort them by saying help was coming, and to hold on. Same thing happened to me after I left the scene, back into my house. Just started crying, and crying. It looked like two of the guys were in their early twenties. There were four people, and only one ambulance left with sirens on.

Wow… I really want to learn more about this now. Is it genetic? Is it a result of conditioning, and “practice?” What are the extremes of this spectrum in humans? How do animals compare? SO many questions

I was thinking that too.

Maybe it was a method of increasing the satisfaction of completing the task? I work in construction, and even though I follow a blueprint, I feel pride in a job done nicely, and it satisfies my urge to create. Sometimes it’s unnecessary for it to pass inspection, and it’s just extra/wasted time, but it feels way better with the fine touches, and attention to detail; even if no one else ever notices, or sees it. People do notice though. Do it all the time, and people will notice.

In North America, I believe deer are the number one killer

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I read somewhere once that the number one most dangerous animal in North America(aka, kills the most people,) are deer. Partially due to statistics involving car accidents, but also because stags get violent enough to make a dent in the stat by trampling people in a deliberate attack with their antlers, and hooves

I was surprised to see elephants and hippos match in victims/year

I read somewhere once, that if we were able to magically make every mosquito, and larva disappear off of the face of the Earth, that all life would cease to live in less than a month, because they are the foundation of the food chain.

I came here to say that. Thank you
