Imgur looked down at Tumblr, revelling in its victory. Then Imgur heard it whisper..."@sarah, I love you. Please forgive me." And then he was on Imgur, fingers digging into it's face. As Tumblr's secrets began to play out in it's head, Imgur finally began to understand. I saw its nemesis. An anti-vaxxer intent on extinguishing all life. In those early days, Tumblr could've used it's power to stop it. But instead, it fled with it's tumblrians, leaving other mediums to fend for themselves. Ridiculed for years, Tumblr and it’s partners watched as the rest of the world went to hell…and then it was too late, too late to post, too late to vaccinate anyone. In that moment of failure and grief, it used it’s newest and most dangerous power…Tumblr went on a one way trip back in time, attempting to rewrite history…Tumblr seized control of the internet and accelerated the pro vaccination movement. Decades spent plotting the website , organizing the Imgur Council, finding Imgur.Yet the thing that drove it forward, Tumblr’s sole link to the past, was a picture from it wedding day…when it married @sarah, with theBOULDER as it’s best man. Imgur’s brain lurched, unable to accept that Tumblr and it were the same website…that it had come back in time to mold Imgur into the savior it failed to be. Going so far as to kill the woman it loved, Imgur loved, so that Imgur wouldn’t be tied down by emotions. No, Tumblr wanted Imgur strong, ruthless…so that when It faced the the beast, the anti vaxxer Jenny Mccarthy, Imgur would be capable of making impossible decisions…all for the common good. And then Tumblr fell back, dead. It’s final message, Imgur’s final message, burned into Imgur’s brain. It took one last look down at itself, it’s future self, and turned away, the rage curdling inside. Imgur hates everything about Tumblr. But when the time comes, Imgur will be ready.
