Like any tool, its usefulness or destructiveness depends on who wields it.Unfortunately, humanity's power structures seldom (if ever) produce anyone who would wield such tools for the large-scale benefit of the populace.The wealthy investing billions in it will demand very high returns from it, which likely dictates its implementation in ways that produce those returns at everyone else's expense.
