They are used for prejudicial reasons in Africa too. The ID requirements are effectively a poll tax because the ID isn’t free. Unless they start handing out birth certificates and passports for free, which they won’t, it’s a poll tax and effectively discriminatory.

Is the roof directly above? And what type of roof? We used to have a bitumen rubber roof and when it leaked, we had to check all the joints, edges, and seams for cracks or damage where water could intrude.
Blasting them with fire hoses sounds reasonable. Treating them like the terrorists, thugs, Klansman, and murderers they are, arresting them or having the national guard hunt them would also be reasonable.

Living friendly will be better since you’ll be spending 99.9% of the time living and using it. Ascetics don’t mean much if you’re uncomfortable in the space. And sure, on initial curb appeal, maybe centering looks better, but down the line, others will probably think like you and want a more comfortable living space. All to say, I’d put the door on the right.
