Hey there! I'm a self taught oil painter. To check out my work and follow my progression, please follow me at www.instagram.com/paintings_by_adam_stevens

Just shoot me a message. My website is not updated much anymore as we have a wild 9 month old in our house lol. Time is scarce!

Man thanks so much. I do love warm paintings against my greyish blue studio walls for this reason

Lmao, Kinkade was literally one of the first artists worth that I loved looking at as a child. My mom had a few prints, and during the holidays I would get lost in them. No offense taken AT ALL! Thanks so much

You’re dreaming but who knows! LOL. I would suggest checking out Andrew Tischler. Incredible artist and teacher.

It doesn’t have to be a crazy messy process, honestly. I clean all my brushes and palette after every session. Maybe 5-10 mins total of clean up? Also the toxicity is a bit of a myth unless you’re totally careless (don’t eat the paint, have a fan running/window open, etc…). If you try oils and give it a chance for 10 paintings or so, you will never go back IMO. It’s so much easier to me than acrylic. If you mess up, just wipe it away or blend it. It stays wet long enough that there isn’t a rush.

Thank you so much and I’m so glad this could bring you back there. That’s great.

I did do an imprimaturs underpinning, but this is the first layer of color. I think it was a 3 hour painting session last night after our little boy went to sleep!

Thank you so much! My second layer isn’t really a full “layer.” It’s really some glazing, color adjusting, and little touches of detail where they matter.

Thanks so much. My next “layer” isn’t really a layer. Mostly some glazing, details here and there where they matter, etc…

Thanks so much. I’ll just be adding touches all over here and there on the next pass. My second layer isn’t really a full “layer”
