That is incorrect. Tips are income and thus taxable, unless the total tipped is less than the minimum wage (the non-restaurant one). You're supposed to declare them, and can deduct up to 25k since last yearService charges are "employer controlled, taxable non-tip wages subject to payroll withholding". So the employer should eb paying the owed tax on that

It was pretty depressing. I also wrote a simple game engine and the assignment was to write an ai player (simple stuff, not LLM agents or anything) and the comp sci class mostly did it but rhe game dev class complained to their advisor...
I had a number of people get zero on an assignment that would have gotten 1 mark if they submitted the provided test app with no code and just their student ID numbers. You can't make people care or put on effort
