Apparently this is my public profile. Consider the self written about. You can find my photography on Tumblr (yes, I am old). www.reality-inflicted.com

That particular photo was taken back in 2014, from a train window somewhere going from New Orleans to New York in december. It is a mess, but there is also something there. :)
which means re-editis and re-crops. I was thinking about doing a series of photos where I interpose the edited picture on the unedited raw, just to show. I did one of those a while back, it is an extreme version, to be sure, but you can see it here: https://www.tumblr.com/reality-inflicted/797583334182174720/everyone-should-delete-their-social-media-once-in
I am not an "edit purist". Every photo is manipulated, as soon as you try to squeeze something into a rectangle you manipulate the scene and actively choose what too, and not too, include. For me Reality-Inflicted is my reality, inflicted on others – so I try to bring out what I see in a scene. In the end, though, it is all about the interpretation of the recipient as I only pulls levers and clicks buttons. ;)I like to go back to old photos and look at them through the lens of experience >>>
I would never ignore Melvins. Or Primus. Or Butthole Surfers. Or Revolting Cocks. Or, or, or – There are soooooo many great bands out there. :D
Sad to say that I haven't listened to Katatonia, but I'll surely do it now. My taste in music is violently eclectic, I listen to just about anything and everything. But some of the music that pops into my head while editing is often Tool, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Depeche Mode and, most frequently Wovenhand. Dave Eugene Edwards is a magician. A very religious, gloomy magician. I mean, just listen to this masterpiece: https://youtu.be/vzKzxlEoGps
Thank you so much. :)
Concrete is amazing. :)No, to touch again on the concept of the pretentious, I love to try and shoot transcience; what is ”in passing”: the places we walk past everyday but don’t really see. Humanity, I think, are most present when we aren’t. In the traces we leave in plain sight. The concrete may be grey at first glance, but it is in fact a myriad of colours, patterns, cracks… there is beauty in the ugly and mundane. :)
Backside, check. Contrast check.
You are talking to someone who, after using Lightroom for editing for over ten years, realised two weeks ago that you can make proofs on screen to get the edits tweaked for screens. What you kindly describe as “talent” is a a decade of mistakes and general incompetence stacked up.
I like to see it as anything niche hat you are passionate about will be treated as pretentious by people that don’t share the enthusiasm, as long as the topic is considered “vaguely cultural”. If the niche interest is “unthreatening”, then the practitioner is a “nerd”, which is less threatening.
Thank you!
Well, right now I am in Landskrona in Skåne. I’ve never beem to Kouvola - I have beem to Kirkkonummi, andHelsinki (naturally). A Finland in fall photo trip woul, i assume, be amazing.
You made me google. :)The bleakness, I feel, brings out the colours in life.
Yeah, I agree with the vignette. It is an edit of an edit – the original file lost in the hell of harddrives crashed – I should have reduced it a bit. Then I forgot. :)
Poutine builds better bodies.
'ou really should tie that kangaroo down, sport.
She's a One Piece.
Downy, fluffy (potentially Very Angry) water tulips.
Fog is a very useful tool, also great for ambience. :)
How very Russian of them.
Get your hand off my penis!
The song I had in mind when I edited the photo was actually more progressive – "Selling England by the Pound" by Genesis: https://youtu.be/4oPA8JUttCw
Oddly, one of my photos actually ended up as the cover photo for a death metal album once. If you happen to know a band in dire need of analbumcover feel free too suggest the photo, I am game as long as I get the credit. I'm happy to support grassroots music.
Credit to the architects that drew the MoMA, I was just bending awkwardly and pressing buttons. ;)
