Reread my comment. They learn from local community organizers, maybe add their names to a contact sheet, or sign up for alerts, and potentially be activated for more radical protests. But like, if even these protests didn't work they wouldn't be responding to them the way they do, they clearly care about the optics.
These events, being so big are inviting, and as they draw people in who have never participated in a protest before meet lots of people and organizers that have. They meet their community and often learn how to organize for future protests.

Back in like, 2018 I worked with a guy in Texas who believing everything he heard on the jesus radio. Came in one day saying that if anyone he knew began asking to be referred to by a different name and pronouns he would refuse to do it. I had to kindly remind him that his name on all his emails, badges, and usernames are Alejandro but we all call him by his preferred name Alex.
