If your sauce is good I don't care how short your pasta is. It doesn't change the taste, but it does impact getting it on the fork. Cook it however you want though. I'm not getting mad about it. Most of the problems people have with pasta boil down to not using enough water to boil it, and not keeping it moving when it first goes into the pot.
Not familiar with the artist, but the locks might be part of some form of binding spell. Each lock blocking access to some part of the beings power as part of the overall binding chain There is a mystical feel to the piece.
I don't peel reds or golds, but for me the skin on russets is too thick and creates an odd mouth texture. Feels like eating a kiwi fruit with the fur on it.
How it tastes is more important than how it looks. Feel free to take that out of context.
