Best argument that I have ever seen/had was when I was in grad school watching a PhD candidate give a seminar. The guy had created a device that could measure how difficult it was to stretch DNA. Some student asked a question about what would happen if you put the entire thing in a vacuum, i.e. how large would the the interaction be between DNA and air. The guy gave an answer, but when it was over, a very heated argument broke out among his committee and the other attendees. This included me.
An Audi will work perfectly fine until you hit something like 90,000 miles, and then everything stops working all at once. Changing a tire is also inexplicably a 2-person job.
I suspect there may have been some substances involved here.

It doesn't matter how much you're lifting, you're still doing WAY better than everyone that's on the couch!
My high school in the early 00s didn't have security. The closest thing we had was a person who directed traffic in the morning and when school would let out.
Did you know that if you're depressed, you can go outside and be depressed outside?
Came down here to say this. It's also called polydimethylsiloxane or dimethicone, and is also used in other products, namely hand lotions, contacts, in some eye surgeries, and to prevent foam in frying oil. The US gives 10 ppm as an upper limit in food. The EU rereviewed it for safety in 2020. They gave a max daily limit of 17 mg/kg body weight (1% of the lowest limit found to cause issues in rats). How does a defoamer "amplify the bliss point response"? https://doi.org/10.2903/j.efsa.2020.6107
So we paid the tariffs through increased prices, but the companies are the ones who are actually going to get money from this.
#7 Farfalle. My mom hates long noodles, so that's all we had for a couple years. It's a texture thing for me. Why are there jagged edges in my pasta?
The best project that I ever had for school was to make a poster that described six of the world's religions. The process of making it was really thought-provoking and gave me a new perspective on other peoples' points of view. I was 11 at the time.
So, if the intention is to help out a less-than-robust healthcare system, and the ship is already in Mobile, Alabama, shouldn't it just be used as a hospital in Mobile, Alabama?

Some of the Romans might have been white by modern standards, as they may have been from places like Gallia (basically modern day France), Italia, or Raetia (parts of modern day Switzerland and Germany) but for a good chunk of the Bible you would be correct.
They had us doing a bunch of puzzles, math problems, reading stories. I liked the program. The problem is that I kept being told by the people around me that I needed to "live up to my potential". And then it started feeling like everything that I did had to be perfect or it would feel like I failed.
I think you got that backwards.
I had an English teacher tell me that I needed to stop reading so much. :/ I also spent way too long arguing with a teacher who claimed to have worked at NASA when he said that Apollo 9 was the first mission that landed on the Moon. It was Apollo 11. He never did believe me.
The fun part is that being mad about a Puerto Rican performing in Spanish is like being mad about someone from Louisiana performing in French.
Soooooo, is the US going to compensate Canada for taking in all those diverted flights on 9/11, then? What about the Canadians who died in Afghanistan? Is the US going to pay their families' pensions?
Sour has lots of sulfur, which needs to be removed through processing. Sweet does not. Venezuelan oil is sour and heavy, which is harder to process and doesn't sell for as much.
#32 Look, if it's legible, and you like how it looks, then go for the fancy handwriting.
The gifted program was amazing for me. In my regular classes, I would either be bored and/or I would give the least amount of effort possible based on the level I thought the other kids were at. The gifted program gave me a challenge that I needed. The issue came when I got to advanced classes in high school/college and actually had to study without knowing how, combined with being told that I had to burn myself out to keep from "wasting my potential".
I'm getting the impression that, since New York and California get a lot of international tourists, Trump is partially making visiting the US harder and less attractive to punish those states for not voting for him. Nevermind that Florida and Texas (which did vote for him) also have a lot of international tourism.

Aunt Marge doesn't deserve the slander.
Which is why the statement of conflict of interest exists. In a scientific paper you need to state your funding source or anything else if it might bias your research. Not declaring this can get your paper rejected or pulled from the journal. Depending on severity, it can kill your reputation, which can make it hard to find a job or collaborate with other scientists.
I didn't spend years tearing my hair out trying to think of every possible issue with my research for you to then tell me that all scientists are lying. Sweetie, I had to explain every decision I made over the course of six years to a bunch of people who spend their time arguing about whether an exponent of 2.5 on a kinetic equation actually meant something about the molecules I was observing or if it was just a number because the equation wasn't originally derived to work with that system.
Virginia Tech in the US had a shop where they would show you how to fix your bike.
