If you're here, you're probably mad about something I said. I do that. I'm sorry. I promise I'm not a troll, and I promise if we met in real life, you'd probably like me. Here's a rundown of the stuff I say that gets me downvotes. 1. America isn't as broken or bad as Imgur wants to make it out to be. It's a great place full of lovely people. Not perfect, but defendably decent. 2. Guns are tools. Nothing more. What scares me is that all the wanna be fascist are the only ones with them, & they know it. That's a major problem. If you want the right-wingers to back gun control, get your liberal asses to the range and learn to shoot. It'll terrify them into background checks by the end of the month. Nothing would undermine the NRA like a bunch of Rainbow AR-15s being open carried at a Pride Parade. 3. I'm not a Republican, nor a conservative. But around here I'm practically right of Nixon it seems. In reality, I've voted for all major parties, & several minor parties. I don't vote against people, and as such if you think my vote for a Libertarian is siding with the Republicans, that means you think my vote would have been for the Dems if the Libertarians weren't an option. That is not true. I liked Andrew Yang's policies a whole lot. Which directly contradicts my Libertarian mindset. I don't get it either. 4. I'm a process nerd. America moves slow. Culture wars move fast, because anger can only burn for so long. Which is why America moves slow. If you're worked up about possible laws, you don't understand our system. Any idiot can propose any law, especially for performance, recently. Almost none of them get through the process. Instead of screaming about the start of the legislative process, move to the end of it. It will make you significantly more calm. 5. Capitalism is the worst economic system, except for all the others. Raging against Capitalism on your private for profit network connected cellphone on a private for profit company's website makes you look fucking silly. It's like yelling about junk food while having dinner at McDonalds. Stop it. It ain't going anywhere. The people who want it to have no power to do that, & are far fewer than you think. You are free to move to a non-capitalist country if you so choose.
