LCDs have frame delay in that they're progressive displays, but most TVs the "lag" is just the end of the current frame buffer. They don't really have more than that these days unless you've got some post-processing turned on. The converters can introduce significantly more than that.
So there's still gonna be lag.
I mean there's other people here saying they want to try something similar so it seemed like useful advice, but fuck me I guess.

Those cheap converters are fucking terrible for gaming. They introduce 2-3 frames of lag, EACH.
