Okay, so, as is traditional, I shall make the standard Imgur profile offer. You get a screenshot of this to the front page, and I will make you something. Specifically, I will write you a custom scenario for a tabletop roleplaying game of your choice (as long as I'm familiar with the setting/rules, or can pick it up fairly quickly).

Speaking of Imgur exploding, are you currently on any other social media? Bluesky, Insta, etc.? I'd hate for this place to collapse and lose so many people i've been following.

Bluesky would be nice, and you could probably start amassing an audience there as well. You could just post a quick summary of each new entry with a link back to your Tumblr.

Hey, that reminds me: with Imgur imploding, is there anywhere else you're posting these? Bluesky or something? I'd love to still follow this series somewhere after Imgur inevitably collapses.

Perfect; followed you on Bluesky! Thanks so much; the creativity in all these designs—to say nothing of the sheer volume of them!—has been delightful to see, and I'd hate to lose access to them now.

So, with Imgur collapsing in on itself now, is there another place you're posting all these to we can find you at? I love all of these, and would hate to eventually lose access to seeing them still!

I can assure you, we would not. Having Incompetent Stupid Evil is WAY easily to work against that Competent Intelligent Evil, which is part of why this second administration of Trump's has been so cruelly successful.

Unlike this first term, when Trump was still surrounded by competent outsiders trying their best to insulate the rest of the world from his stupidity, Trump is now buoyed by an entire ARMY of smarter, eviler appointees who are calling the shots FOR HIM.

Yes, but you do know who those users that they are trying to sell to ARE, right? US.

And how do they sell those ads? By engagement on their site. Like us posting all these thousands of posts and writing all these thousands of comments and driving curious people from outside our community to swing by and look at our glorious "rebellion."

Whether it's good engagement or bad engagement, we're still literally driving their ad engagement UP.

Yeah, like I said, if all we are doing is leaving scorched earth behind us on our way out to potentially greener pastures? Yeah, I'm completely fine with that.

But a lot of people commenting over the last few days seem to think this is somehow going to 'change everything' back to how it used to be, and—barring some wealthy philanthropist billionaire coming in and buy it at a loss from MediaLab to miraculously give it "back to the people"—I don't see that happening.

Part of me wants to say this is actually just you in 100% black bodypaint against your normal background.

How in any way is that 'weird?' Unless you have some evidence to back it up, you're sounding very much like some random guy coming out of nowhere saying that he's been in secret discussion with Trump, and we've got him and his fascist regime on the ropes! He's ready to cave!

Especially when the only public response we've gotten from ML was basically meme-flavored corporate-speak of "yes, we hear you, and you can do whatever you want, but we're the Good Guys here, so we're staying our course."

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, but disruptive to what end? In a normal protest, the goal is to try and force the PTB to change their behavior for the better. But ML is a Private Equity firm; their business model—to enshitify the site—is the SAME as what WE are doing in protest. ML literally responded and said they didn't CARE what we did: protest, FUBDs, etc.

If we're JUST doing this to deprive ML of potential ad revenue while Imgur implodes behind us, that's fine, but don't think salting your own field will save it.

Yes, but, that last paragraph doesn't make sense; the owners ALSO want the site to go to ash. Running it into the ground is the whole business model of a private equity firm, after all. Unless there's something else planned beyond just wanton destruction, the only question becomes: will we destroy the site faster than MediaLab will?

If we're just doing this to deprive ML of potential ad revenue while Imgur collapses behind us, that's fine, but don't think salting your own field will save it.

< that by doing this, ML will somehow "see the error of their ways" and change the site to have better Mods, better devs, more attentive staff, money put into maintenance and upgrades, etc., and that's... WILDLY optimistic, at best.

Again, I already knew Imgur was eventually going to die once it was bought out by a private equity conglomerate. I just didn't expect its death would be at our own hands before the corporations got to do it.

No, I get that. I'm only wondering what the end goal is. In a normal protest/riot, the goal is to try and force the Powers That Be to change their behavior for the good of the people DOING said riots. But when the PTB is a Private Equity firm, THEIR ultimate plan—to enshitify the site—is the SAME as what the protests/riots are doing.

If we're just rioting to mercy kill Imgur to starve ML of ad money, and we KNOW that, that's fine. But I feel like a lot of people are under the impression >

Thank you! If you don't already have an account on Bluesky, that might be a nice place to share your art as well.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hey, while I'm thinking about it, where else can we find you? Since Imgur is rapidly collapsing in on itself and looks to literally become another generic porn site within days, can we follow you and your art/comics anywhere else? I'd hate to lose your stuff when I leave/Imgur implodes.

Yep, over two hours now and it's still there! I have to say, I'm very surprised. Clearly, we've cracked the office hours of what's left of the mod team.

This is the moment, all right, if that moment was 1874.

This is like top brass of the military droning on about how amazing and iconic "sharp sticks" are.

MediaLab is a Private Equity Conglomerate. There is ZERO chance of them putting actual work into keeping the site on anything other than the bare minimum life support. That's the whole POINT of a private equality firm's business model, after all.

"Mr. Dent, have you any idea of how much damage that pizza would suffer if I just let it roll straight over you?"

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It'd almost be a mercy killing at this point, honestly.

Now that they have the power, they absolutely will NOT leave until they're FORCED to leave. The only thing that is uncertain is whether that happens soon, or only after hundreds of thousands—maybe MILLIONS—of deaths.

Nah, I get as much Ashley as I can handle from her other socials! A man can only take so much at a time, after all!

It's true: people are not complaining because "they are praying." They're complaining because they never do ANYTHING ELSE besides just praying.

In any normal world, he would have NEVER even gotten CLOSE to a nomination, much less WON.

The full videos are (were? It's been years) on the House of Gord paysite, but you can find a quick clip on Reddit by literally using my entire comment as the search on Google. It was the second result for me.

R.I.P. Gord, who created a real-life bondage printing press for a scene that very much operated on this exact principle.

Pretty sure this has long since moved past the 'protest' point and now is just actively working to make the remaining "mods" do as much work as possible and to potentially crash or slow down operation. Most of us have accepted the fact that Corporate Paternus has shown Imgur has dropped on its list of "things to bother maintaining" for the most part, so all most of what the community is doing anymore is just putting more holes in the already-sinking ship.

This may be one of the few opportunities to actually post some of your more Fan-oriented pics here, actually!
