True, with benefit packages (family plans about $100/mo employee share) offering coverage of things like drugs, dental, therapeutic massage, vision, hospital room upgrades, etc. My deductible for one set of services is $100/yr. But even with no insurance at all, the most expensive part of going to the hospital for anything is parking or the gift shop.

The Chicxulub crater hit the news as the “smoking gun” about ten years later.
