Seriously. I've given up on these people. They're so heavily brainwashed and immune to reality/evidence/critical thinking. If I say something that goes against what they believe, they'll reject it. That part isn't surprising, it's common (but frustrating) human behavior. But, if I show a solid source for what I said, like a direct link to a tweet or a video of the thing being said verbatim, they'll *still* just reject it. It doesn't matter what it is, they just dismiss anything they dislike.

For example, I voted against Biden and Kamala in the primaries. They're not who I wanted, and don't represent my views on some important issues. However, in the general election, I voted blue because the alternative is literal nazis in power, on top of the GOP being *even worse* than Biden/Kamala on issues I care about. Letting the worse one win, and nazis take power doesn't make sense. Even if you're a single issue voter, which ignores the suffering of a LOT of people, the GOP is still worse.
You vote for actual good candidates who best represent your positions in primary elections. That's how you avoid shitty Dems like Newsom. In a general election, the republican or the democrat is GOING to win. Not participating just helps the worse option win. General elections are for harm reduction. If the options are someone who sucks on some things, vs someone who sucks on literally everything *including the things the other person sucks on,* it makes zero sense to allow the worse one to win.
