For context I work in a home and have met probably around 100 residents with different stages and types of dementia in the last few years.

It's really difficult to give good advice for these situation but if anyone knows it's the ones who see and work with her every day.
If you call them up, keep in mind they may not have time for a long call right away but you can ask them to call you when they do have time.
Does she live in a home? If you want specific tips you could always call the staff that is with her on a day to day basis for advice.
I find people with dementia to be some of the kindest I've met. Most of the aggressive cases seem to have more to do with confusion and fear
You wouldn't let someone suicidal sit with their suicidal thoughts every day, same as you shouldn't let someone with social anxiety hide.
I've got my fair share of issues and there's a difference between "get over it" and "learn how to overcome and get rid of it".
