Persecution (or at least perceived persecution) is a telltale sign of their own righteousness, so it works sort of like a shame kink in that it backfires tremendously to try and convince them of anything. The pressure to spread Christianity also functions as a means to further isolate the most devout by directing them into a humiliating situation only to be the safe haven herd to return to once all the world has made them feel unwelcome for trying to enforce their religion upon others. Ick.

You’re not wrong. But I don’t think these kind of people will respond to anything but ridicule. They get joy out of being the powerful bad guys at this point. We have to be the laughing jester cracking jokes and burns and chirps to the end, because one thing they will crave that we must deny them is to be taken seriously.
This has the same energy as incels raging over female leads in action movies (cough cough mad max fury road cough cough)
