I am intensely sorry and pissed off at the amount of House jokes you're going to endure while having to go through this horrible thing.
As someone with family who had lupus long before House, FUCK House. Lupus is a shit disease. Nobody'd have laughed at "it's never cancer".
Don't even feel bad, either. You are protecting your mental health from degrading any further than it already has.
If the resistance to change is absolute, get divorce papers inside of a week. Give them a chance, but don't stay in an abusive relationship

Schedule COUPLES shrink and read this post to them. Your spouse's behavior needs to change and therapy for YOU won't change it.
