This next election is like the mandalorian movie, if it sucks and doesn't deliver everything everyone wanted, then people will just give up on it for a long time
Republicans in minority were able to block legislation a lot when Democrats had majority. But for the last 20 something years Democrats have been turning a blind eye to the slide towards degeneracy in the Republican party. The next time they are in power of they don't do a big hard over correction, it'll be the last time they hold power.

My solution is i was an elected official would be to introduce state and federal legislation to make it a misdemeanor to murder a member of any political party who has majority control in the house or Senate.
