Nope. He also takes Russian money to undermine democracy. He's a multi-faceted enemy of the Republic.

I was sticking with populated territories and districts for the moment. If we start pulling in all of the various islands in the US Empire, it grows quite nicely to quite a collection of bits and bobs out there. Doesn't the US claim one island just because it's covered in guano?

If we're headed into recognizing territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands (Plus that whole Washington DC taxed without representation issue).

One of my coworkers had their home destroyed by Israel yesterday. It was lost in the bombing of Beirut. She is in Germany right now, so her kids weren't at home so they didn't die in this attack by Israel. I have not words for the inhumanity that government is imposing upon the world.

I loved my Honda SuperCub. 125cc, fast enough to get around local city streets on the hills, and got about 80-90 mpg. Refilling it in seconds, paying $2.50 at the pump and then driving away was always wonderful when the giant cars around me were sitting there watching the numbers keep ticking up on their pumps.

Nice collection of 90's things. Good times for those of us who were young then.

1) Get your tetnus vaccines/shots up to date. 2) Wear leather/sturdy gloves, steel toed boots, very tough pants, and a mask (mold sucks). 3) Don't climb down into anything you don't have a serious plan to get back out of. 4) Extra batteries for the flashlight. 5) Plenty of water before and with you. 6) Some kind of lever or tool to free your foot from the hole in the floorboards. 7) LOTS of pictures because that looks hella fun.

Duh. You don't accrue a billion dollars by caring about others.

Folks: fire is dangerous. Have a plan to put it out when using it.

Third places are the fabric of community. If we rely solely on our families at home, a few friends, and whatever work provides for social interaction we are seriously at risk of severe loneliness. Families can be lost. Friends drift or move away. Work isn't really friendship, but forced time in the trenches. Having a place to go outside and socialize without paying huge amounts to exist there are a must for healthy neighborhoods.

I do appreciate a good cheese video. I knew I was in the right place when I was at a random corner flea market in Berlin. There was a large food truck kind of trailer with nothing but wheels of cheese. That's great, but what made it *really* great was that the every next vendor was a trailer just as big with nothing but wheels of cheese!

That's a pretty solid aisle for cheese. It's about a normal sized German cheese section without the specialty area or if they have full wheels to work with. Wisconsin and Germany can be cheese bros.

In other news: Alan Ritchson doesn't know much about the bible's contents or the history of the various Christian sects.

... OR (bear with me) NO ONE! The key goal of an imperial aspirant is to continue to concentrate power. The position's power will be split. Some flows up to the cabinet/executive, and the rest is put into a few underling seats that don't need to be confirmed. Chaos basically ensues and the executive power rules a bit more by dictate.

Yes, it can always be worse when someone is actively trying to destroy our democratic institutions.

Then your parents suck because they raised a dangerous idiot who should know better. Let's call your responsible adults followed by CPS. Wanna escalate? Let's escalate. I'm sure your parents will LOVE that outcome.

I don't care about him. His photos, his activities, his own desires. That's his and his alone. What I do care about is the cruelty and hypocrisy of his wife and the party she represents. They HURT people just like him, just because.... no good reason other than they like to hurt people as part of building power and money for themselves. They're bad people.

I disagree. It's going to worse than whatever I can come up with because I'm still human.

Yes, the CITY of Berlin in Germany has an arts budget over 5x of that of the US federal NEA. No wonder it's a city of arts, culture, music, and creativity. Isn't that a key pillar of humanity being human?

In unrelated news about how art is supported:
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) had a budget of $207 million for fiscal year 2025,

Berlin’s annual culture budget has been roughly around €1 billion per year in recent budgets. (about 1.15 billion USD).

I remember how we (well, my parents since I was a kid) would buy plane tickets and make sure they were in the non-smoking section of the airplane. Trapped in a metal tube with a bunch of people puffing away in the back and it was only slightly less dense in our section.

Smoking is sooo stupid and caustic to everyone.

And he shouldn't. That's just outright dangerous to other players because he's an asshole trying to hurt people. If he was on the field again with our teams he'd start having strange injuries if the Umps didn't get his ass out of there.

Having been through one, I wouldn't wish a divorce on anyone. They're really shitty to live through. That said, they're better than living in a horrible situation. If the marriage is over then end it. You'll deal with the divorce and come out the other side with a chance to be happy instead of what you have now, which is no chance at all. Your children will be okay. Many of kids make it through, especially if you take the high road, get everyone counseling, and let them know it's not their fault

It's that 2,485 miles in the EU notation would be 3.9992 kilometers in the US notation. It's the comma being used for the decimal separator for the miles. That made the bot think it was 2.485 miles (in US notation), which became 3.9992 kilometers. The UnitConversionBot is having trouble with their parsing and number notation for US vs EU systems.

Inkjets have a few edge case uses. For the other 99.9% of printing needs, get a laser printer. No HP, though. They're openly evil. I'm classically a Brother printer user since my HP LJ4 finally died. Getting a stack feed for the scanner is a great upgrade, but make sure it duplexes to scan both sides automatically. They've got a couple of models that are single sided stack scanners, so you get to manually merge which is really annoying.

DARVO is something everyone should learn about. Once you know how it works, you see it everywhere when abusers and narcissists are nearby: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_LgnGGhmIrI

Ironically, that video suggests you let the police deal with evil people... such is the Catch 22 of society.
