The first climber reaches the top, makes an anchor and holds the rope (belays) while a second climber comes up and takes the screws out. To get down they walk down and eaiser side or abseil off. To save leaving a screw behind you can make a v shaped tunnel in the ice with two screw holds and thread some cord through it. (Source: retired ice climber, it was too damm scary)
