I’m 45 and was on vyvanse for a year. It started to lose efficacy for me so I switched back to adderral XR recently. Both cost about the same on my plan.

She’s also been in a dance class for two years with the same 3 friends. Two of this friends, while exceptional at some talents and skills, just have not figured out this whole dance thing. They’re not super coordinated and don’t have great balance. But one of them is a gifted painter who understands color and composition wildly well for her age. It’s not hard to see, from direct experience, that some kids have the brain chemistry that allows them to be better at certain things than other things.
As a father of a 5 year old, my job is to offer as many experiences and opportunities I can to my kid to see what piques her interests. She’s tried drums, and while she was very interested in learning and playing, she was not able to play with the kind of rhythm that Bieber could do at 2. However, her sense of balance is phenomenal and she immediately took to skiing and ice skating naturally. Hard work and practice is important, but natural ability is also a very real thing.
Nothing replaces hard work and practice. But you can’t argue that some people are just born with brain chemistry that makes them more naturally gifted at specific talents than others. There’s a reason we have Einsteins, Hawkings, or Mozarts. Not many 8 year olds can write symphonies that remain culturally significant for hundreds of years after their death. Michael Phelps, for example, was born with a body shape and lung geometry that made him the most winning swimmer in Olympic history.
Absolutely. All people are just naturally gifted at certain things, and will always be better at those things than people who work exceptionally hard. Everyone has their own natural gifts. It’s great when those gifts align with what makes them happy. Even better if they can make a living at it.
Some people are also just gifted. There are videos of Justin Bieber playing the drums when he’s 2 years old. And playing them very well at 5. Hard work turns gifted into legendary.
