Not necessarily true: the soup kitchen I work at takes expired stuff. We serve the hardest to serve population, most of whom have been banned from attending other pantries due to violence, drugs, etc.

I'm celiac and have worked at a Catholic soup kitchen and food pantry for years. I knew the couple guests who were also celiac and made a designated gluten free product bin so we always had something for them when they came. I also like knowing what people like (especially if it's unusual), so I can keep my eyes open when sorting donations. It's awesome to be able to include someone's favorite treat!

Yes, that's wack. I can get certain types, and I'm all about those!

Okay, but can there be just a little room for the tiny group folks like I belong to who couldn't take it? Lerally the whole reason herd immunity is important is so the gang can protect us, but it reeeally sucks to be lumped in with the antivaxers

And why anti-trust laws are essential.

Agreed: I usually come down on the side of things we know for *sure* we can shut down (no adromeda strains)

Oh wow, I did not understand at all, lol! The shop vac does seem traumatic!!! Weirdly, I have more experience with genetic engineering and bug-vacuuming, and have to say that I actually would not be on board with bee genertic engeneering. I used to be a biochemist and worked on beetle resistance to pesticides: nature is... nature is an indominable force and basically we are idiots with no idea what we're doing by comparison.

#2 What's the different between Latin and Roman that made a bunch of the letters flip backwards?

I'm not an expert or anything, but I'm pretty sure they relocate them to dedicated, just for bees hives (rather than also part of a house hives). I read something once about wild hives being really valuable to beekeepers because they bring genetic diversity to commercial hives that's protective against common diseases.

I'm curious, too. I've had a different major abdominal surgery, but didn't have the same symptoms. I just got sluggish innards and the docs sorta shrugged and said, "Organs dont like being touched."

Not op's, tho. It is in the incinerator.

I seriously wish we could use more precise language here. I get the intent, but as a mom and pop struggling to break through, it's hard to not feel like we're not already seen as monsters. We just wanna make yummy chips! Please buy our yummy chips with money so we can pay our rent and don't hate us! 😭

Inflation also plays a massive role. When money is fixed in quantity (because it represents a physical thing like gold/oil/grain or a hard limit has been put on it like bitcoin), its value only changes due to demand for it and prices fluctuate within a manageable range. When more money is added without any connection to a thing of value, the overall worth of each unit of money decreases *really* fast

decisions. Doing that would allow states with a large ag industry like Iowa to use funds for programs like farm to school that incentivise local farmers to produce food for local schools. Producing locally also saves money on transport, processing, and storage. Source: am a food producer (2/2)

The money in question is federal funds that are part of covid assistance to help states when things were shut down. Accepting the funds requires the state to pay the federal government 1/2 (the $2.2M mentioned)and requires the state to defer admin decisions for how the funds are spent to the federal level. Reynolds said that continuing covid assistance is not sustainable, and instead the federal government should increase funding of existing state programs that allow states to make spending(1/2)
