Opossums are nearly immune to rabies due to their naturally low body temperature. The fact he is actively acting defensively and not disoriented or aggressive makes me think not rabies, just stress. I would still avoid touching him, for other obvious reasons.

See my comment to the other guy. You’re not bathing anything in alcohol, a spritz on the glass is all you need. Windshield washer fluid already contains Methyl alcohol as an antifreeze, it’s just really toxic. I prefer something less toxic, and once it melts and combines with the water you’ll be at the same safe dilution anyway. Why does everyone think I just have gallons of the stuff to dump on my windshield at all times?
I mean ok if you have that much money to throw around. I didn’t realize a five gallon drum of the stuff was on the table. A couple spritz out of a spray bottle is really all you need, and it still evaporates pretty quickly. Methyl alcohol is the usual anti freeze used in windshield washer fluid anyway, it’s just horribly toxic. I’d rather something safe if I am going to personally spray it.
I like everclear for windshield deicing. 90%+ Isopropyl also works. Most types of alcohol will work honestly, freezing points are low enough and they like mixing with water .
Nope, no safety inspections at all. I work for a dealership, out of state, in state, once upon a time in a state doesn’t matter. There is no safety inspection. You may be thinking of “Imported vehicles manufactured with non-US standards / grey-market vehicles” or salvage vehicles which do get a DMV safety inspection.
