Yeah my current employer is also super stingy and doesn't do a match. I'm still putting in 12% because it's my best chance of having anything to retire on some day. Or at least let me only work part time when I'm old...
Just depends on where you go I guess. My boyfriend was given a 401k even when he worked retail at Staples making just $2 above min wage.
This was the scam of getting everyone dependent on a 401k for retirement. Even the lower middle class now have a not insignificant chunk of their future riding on how well the stock market does.

I will say I can see how the EX30 might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's very tesla-like on the interior, including the center tablet with all the vehicle info on kt. That's the only part I was iffy about, but I've already grown used to it. Nearly everything is automatic for you, so all I really need is the few physical controls on the steering wheel. PRND right stick, blinkers on the left stick, windshield wash button, wiper sensitivity adjust, cruise control buttons, and radio controls.
That's true, thankfully I went in having already researched the car thoroughly. I basically just did a test drive to confirm I liked it in person and then pulled the trigger. Easy when you're looking at a brand new EV with only 24 miles on it from test drives haha.
I did a caffeine detox a few months ago to reset my tolerance. It only helps for so long. This is only the second drink but I did a double shot so it may as well be #4
Thank you!! This thing is insanely fast. If you turn on maximum performance mode it does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. My first car was my dad's old Volvo station wagon, I'm proud I could finally afford to buy one myself.
When I went to the volvo dealer the salesman told me a LOT of people have been trading in teslas for the new volvo EVs this year haha

The decision to make people go annoying work arounds is still their arbitrary decision they made so it still leaves me annoyed at them and wanting to steer everyone away from Google products :)
When Google wouldn't let me change my email when I changed my name I realized they don't actually care about me and want to keep my data static forever and fuck em. Microsoft actually let me change my email without making a whole new account, so they're way better trans allies at least, but now I'm sour on them over everything around windows 11. I use Linux on my desktop now, and I'm moving to open source software where feasible and going to privacy-focused companies where offsite is better.
Personally I trust Google even less than Microsoft. I just switched to Proton for mail and drive. They're much better on privacy.
My middle school health class in Washington had that. My high school health class in Georgia did not. It varies extremely wildly by state 🙃

He's operating even more recklessly than usual with doge. At his other companies there was at least a few years for the competent engineers to lock things down before they became targets. Doge is packed with 19 year old suckups who tell him yes to everything.

I'm very sour on Debian family distros. I run Arch on my desktop but can't seriously recommend it to those who don't consider maintaining their computer part of the fun. My wife is enjoying Fedora KDE Desktop. KDE will be familiar to anyone with a steamdeck ;)

I think that's pretty trivially explained by the fact that historically, girls with boys names can get some slight advantages from it in life, while boys with girls names will only get relentless bullying.
