If you look close you can see springtails jumping in the background (small white bugs on the surface of the water). Also there is some filamentous algae forming on a waterlilly branch that you can see waving in the water. The curled up thing in the center of frame is a new waterlily pad emerging.

Congratulations man! You've gotta be feeling better already, right? The nice thing about being that big is you can make such fast progress if you put your mind to it.

This is not a significant effect. What you might hope to gain in your first full year of lifting assuming you're doing everything right (including being a surplus) would only burn about an extra 100 C a day, or two modest bites of a protein bar, relative to the same weight in fat. That's like 7% of my current deficit. It's the wrong thing to prioritize for weight loss.

yes, numbers go up during inflation 👍 very good

Unless of course you wait, then it takes decades. I was obese for 20 years.

Only takes a few months to fix though! I bet you wouldn't have a problem dropping 10 pounds a month. And you'll feel qualitatively, significantly improved every couple months along the way.

The difference is that I very likely have a lot less muscle than you. The closest I ever got to farm work was when I helped develop an agricultural robot.

Wayyyyyy ahead of you

Just track your macros and switch to zero calorie soda. I drink a lot more soda now than I ever did when I was fat, but it's all zero calorie.

Bulking at 19% body fat? I'm not trying to end up like Mark Rippetoe.

As much as I love cereal, its hard to justify a big bowl of carbs as the first thing to eat every morning!

Let me know if you want to talk. I'm not active on imgur (too many silly children) but I am on reddit. If you want to guarantee success for yourself I suggest making fitness a part of your identity. Once that happens the rest comes naturally with time.

If you seriously have such a folder, add this too it too https://csp256.github.io/fitness/index.html a lot more data and you can give it your own numbers too.

And yes, the home stretch is always the hardest. On its face I can finish the diet out in like 3 months, but I expect it might take more like 5 or more.

Don't forget there will be some rebound effect when you go to maintenance, so you'll get an extra few to several pounds out of nowhere just in water weight and gut content.

It's empirically derived. That means that it looks at calories in and weight changes and uses that to estimate the TDEE. It's one of the features that makes MacroFactor superior to its alternatives, because it actually tries to find TDEE instead of just guessing.

I also have Apple Health data for my active calories burned and it lines up quite well with what is actually observed. Over a 200 day period my weight was off of expected value by like half a pound? Well within measurement error.

You can use this to help set your goals: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/li3zuws3ea won’t work too well if you have a lot of muscle mass, but I bet it gets you in the ballpark.

A good goal is 15% body fat for men, but women require approximately an additional 8% body fat for healthy function (23% total).
