Congress? You mean that thing currently controlled by the GOP? I think what you meant to write is that the GOP is derelict for not confronting members of their own party. When you say "Congress is derelict" it leaves it open to interpretation of the viewer, many of whom will interpret it as Democrats and Republicans are to blame for all this.

Does it fucking matter? Even when Dems get control everyone just gets pissed off they aren't fixing things fast enough. I said it in 2016 and I'll say it again now: Dems should tell the whole country to fuck off for 20 years, and when everyone is begging them to rescue them tell them to fuck off again until every Republican politician is disemboweled on pikes across the country and every Republican supporter is stoned to death the second they utter a word like 'woke' as a pejorative in public.
There is also a nonzero chance that your body will just flat out reject that type of punishment at some point during the month and then all the trouble you went through will be for naught. People underestimate how difficult this is to do.
