20 something hours of my life I’ll never get back.
If you click through, someone asked pretty much exactly what you did and there’s some useful replies from the guy who DID write it in the thread.
You used a roll of 3200 on an overcast day? Were you going for the grainy look?
Decent Reddit thread from several years ago.https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/fb9707/whats_going_on_with_everyone_celebrating_margaret/Stuff like breaking up unions, mine closures, cutting spending especially on social programs, and selling off previously publicly owned infrastructure for things like utilities.
#133 I watched a YouTube review about The Beyond the other day. They made a big deal about how eerie the scenes in a mostly empty hospital were. (And the empty bridge.)Then I slipped on some ice and fell. Needed an x ray the next day. Our tiny rural hospital was nearly empty.Eerie.No one had those freaky grey eyes though.
Copies don’t count for Storm, do they?
Our husky loves broccoli, too
Jack White should start a band with KG
I may have just ended up with a second Etsy account because I ordered that immediately and paid on my phone. Oh well.
Also I slipped on some ice last night and fucked up my back so I am in pain and on prescription medication today so I’m sorry if any of this comes off as aggressive. I’m really trying to support you and I want to see you thrive.
The ink and paint and paper and _work_ you put into your art is like that ram. You are likely to under value it in the first place (I’m married to an artist btw) and your pricing should reflect the appreciating value of all that stuff, your labor and talent most of all.
$10 for an 8x10 is too cheap. I know Etsy takes a cut of that too. Your margins have got to be thin on that since the cost of materials keeps rising. One thing I remind artists of these days is set your prices to cover the costs for the new art you are making this week. Not the costs of stuff at the time you made the piece. And your own labor is part of that, too! People are disassembling old computers because the ram inside them has gone up in value…
Yeah link to shop in bio. But @op should include it in a post a couple times per month. It doesn’t need to be on every post. But enough that folks scrolling through post history or people who follow you have a reasonable chance to spot it without thinking about checking your bio. I obviously forget to do that. And Indian the only one.
Thanks for cluing me in to the Etsy shop. I’ve been following him for a while now and I don’t recall seeing him plug it in his posts. These artists gotta rely on the street team for promotion sometimes. Good work.
#7 if you sell prints of this one it’d make a great gift for my eldest
This shows life skills and integrity more important than grades. I know that doesn’t help with the scholarship. But I’m proud of you.
You have corn fields this time of year? Or did the lab take a long time to develop your Polaroids? 😉

#24 oh shit! The hodag! I’ve seen this little guy up close.Speaking of Wisconsin, I hope today’s nasty weather wasn’t too nasty in whatever part of the state you’re in.
#13 image source is Pia Paulina Guilmoth’s Flowers Drink the River. I’m not sure what the title of this specific piece is, though.https://www.vogue.com/article/pia-paulina-guilmoth-and-her-work-flowers-drink-the-river-a-conversation-with-alessia-glaviano
A great coming of age movie
Final Flesh, The Catechism Cataclysm, Begotten, Rubber, Tetsuo: The Iron ManMost of these stretch the definition of “movie” though.
You got that Elmo’s Downers syndrome like my wife’s got, eh?
Oh wow. You’ve released like 9 things on Bandcamp since I last checked.
#17 I’ve seen TTRPG rules around coin clipping and other forms of debased currency. I think it was in this?https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/551439/Filthy+LucreBut it could very well have been a blog post.
Sometimes you gotta play to your strengths.
If the “we” there means Canadians then I think you say everything completely correctly. Y’all speak Canadian English (and Canadian French) which is its own thing and has regional dialects. There’s a lot of stuff here in my part of the Great Lakes region I’m willing to consider regional dialect as well. But the bag / bagel thing doesn’t fit for me. It’s not traditional vowel drift or blending. Both sounds exist but show up in unexpected places.

#31 this is the sort of stuff I’m always on the hunt for when I’m out in the woods. But we have snow on the ground for so long that our window for mushrooms (and ferns) is only a couple months long.I need to take a trip to the Pacific Northwest or something.
