Not a single thing you've said excuses them from leaving the place filthy and not quitting a few days ago and not leaving it filthy. They left their own dishes in the sink. So what if they figured out it wasn't enough money, it still doesn't excuse that.
Your literal argument is, they get to be lazy because they accepted a job after seeing it, but they didn't actually want to do it, but that's a-ok because they wanted more pay than what they ACCEPTED and then they wouldn't do it without more pay and quit mid work while they're on vacation.
They literally invited me to their horse farm and we're really kind. They accepted my 55hrs to stay last night over night, and in app, I only get 42. I am putting this on the pet sitter.
They accepted the job outside of the app and visited beforehand. Yes I'll insult a lazy person's work ethic, they undervalued themselves. I can't provide specifics numbers, but it would have been enough to be worth it if I got $100 for just 2 h, 3 hours apart.

"Maybe they value themselves more than you do" they could have quit on day 1/2/3etc, they left it dirty more than just one day, they quit that day, there was 3+ days of filth other than the aquariums.
