Off topic but wow our usernames are similar.
Calling women "females" (or men "males") as a noun is dehumanizing and usually only said by neckbeards. I don't think it's about gender.
It's using female as a noun that's cringy; the "Are there any females at the party?" usage sounds like something out of Nat Geo.
