Same thing happened with me with a kindle I bought. They never said it automatically signs you up for Kindle Unlimited and it took me a year to realise they’d been taking £10 out of my account a month, I’d spent £120 on it by the time I realised. I was livid

Non American here. Do you watch the news at all? “Most of the world is non violent”? There are literally multiple wars happening in the world. But we don’t even need to discuss violence in the physical sense. Capitalism is a destructive force. It causes widespread poverty, which is inherently violence against the person. There are more than enough resources in this world to go around but they’re hoarded for private wealth. Not violent? Get a grip

I have a religious studies degree. I’m not religious and never have been, never will be. But studying the religions of others opened my eyes (I’m from a very white, very non cultured part of the UK) to other countries, other cultures, other ways of life. It is important to teach religion in schools to allow children and adults to be accepting of everyone else.

My parents and grandparents love to spout the whole “I bought my own house at 18” and think it’s because they were frugal and saved (despite working for hardly anything, pre minimum wage). Nowadays, that’s unthinkable.
