I had a college teacher screaming at me because I was nodding at what she was saying during our FIRST lecture. Like yourself, I too was shocked and looked behind me, so she yelled "yea you!!! What's with the noddingggg??" and I got so confused by her aggressive tone that I couldn't even explain that I was, in fact, just paying attention to her instructions. Fuck me, right? I never went back to that class.
Our dwelling in London has the equivalent of an HOA.... but their purpose is to ensure there's no trash dumping, illegal parking, taking care of the green spaces around the pavements, cleaning the top floor windows from outside, and I call them if a squirrel gets trapped in the attic (again). Some old neighbours painted their door bright yellow, and the HOA submitted them to the local newspaper - as a point of pride. America is so fucking tragic.
My Granny had a lot of chickens, geese, ducks, quails etc - some were there to feed us, and some were literally her pets. It was always quite clear which are which. She never slaughtered the pets. I remember a particular favourite chicken of hers that was following her everywhere, they were eating dinner together off the same table. That chicken died of old age. Granny cried when the piggie had to go. It was the first and only one time she had a pig, she refused to have another ever again.
Agreed - and had to watch it happen Many times after college, my parents did nothing for me, but most of my friends got parental help either with deposit or an entire studio flat, in 10 years they just went on to buy another property (at least 2 friends again with parental help) and I will probably rent forever. Then they sit on a high horse and judge the rest of us idiots who never got any help and can never catch up.
My father laughed and said "wha, you gonna kill yourself...like them emos?!" Then he lol-ed, literally laughed out loud and walked away, unperturbed. Nobody blinked an eye about it, ever. It is not your fault that there isn't enough food. It is never your fault. They are not "replacing what you ate", they are providing their family with food - this is their legal responsibility as parents. If you are underage, consider calling CPS - no joke, tell them all. Mine had not too a dissimilar approach: every year on birthday month they would Constantly complain about lack of money and how times are So tough, then they would say they'd arrange smth "If I REALLY wanted a celebration" in that victimising boomer tone so I had no choice but to say No. Then my father would go buy himself a 6 pack. I live in London and my kitchen window doesn't have a screen, it's on the garden side. When its hot and we leave the window open in the evening with the light on for fucking 10 mins and here they come - like 3 mosquitoes, 6 moths of various types, 1 spider and some other flying thing. I only have issues with the mosquitoes. I noticed a moth has been sleeping on my Hobbit hardcover.
I see this often - owner says dog gets car sickness, but owner starts stressing early morning about dog getting car sickness, the chaotic anxiety before putting the dog in the car, the tense car ride - all this stressed me out so much that even I started feeling car sick. It's the same with dogs who don't do well with other dogs, owner was too anxious while socialising the puppy who picked up on all the stress and is now adult dog who cannot socialise with other dogs.
I too highly recommend FODMAP diet. Doctors dont know whats wrong with me either, I got a methane SIBO diagnosis from a specialist that means nothing to my general doctor who just shrugs when I say I am in constant pain and discomfort in my guts. Fodmap is the only thing that keeps me sane, I suggest an elimination diet for gluten, lactose, caffeine, and sugar - all this shit you feel might be food intolerances and yes, they appear overnight!
