Why don't you make me?
Thousands of years?
The Americans had a revolution because they didn't want to pay tax on tea. That's a pretty loose definition of "oppressed"
Ooooooooh, yeaaaah
yeah, well, in the 80's we believed that Prince did it #3
You can't sleep on a bench with arm rests in the middle. So the sign is showing apparent sympathy for the plight if the homeless, but the bench itself implies we just want rid of them. Which is somewhat incongruous.
Ah yes, the single unequivocal answer to the question of what it is to be a good person. And it's immutable and unchanging over time and location you say? Wonderful.
Tbh that was more Native American Tolkien memes than I expected on a Sunday evening
Barksdale family were great entrepreneurs
Now, now let's be fair. The Nazis were definitely patriotic
Mate, you're just you. And that's fine
Hahaha, why would you pay for journalism, hahaha, it's just shit someone wrote, hahaha, that can't be worth anything,
#50 a) that's 25 lanes not 50. b) that's obviously a toll gate of some kind, lots of countries have these on motorways, bridges, etc

It's literally spelled VIT A MINS. There's no other logical way to pronounce it. Of course, I would use this method of analysis to determine the pronunciation of about 90% of other words Lieutenant. But still, it's our language so we're right and you're wrong.
Brexit has obviously been a bad idea, as was obvious to all sensible people, but not everything can be blamed on it. Inflation has be a problem in the EU too: https://france-inflation.com/index.php

I'd argue the independence days are /because/ of the freedom fighters/rebels more then the British. That and the conditions placed on Britain by the US as terms for Marshall Plan aid anyway.
Sadly, homosexuality was illegal at the time in the UK (as it was in most places) and when arrested for homosexual acts he took the option of CHEMICAL castration to avoid jail. A terrible law and a terrible result, but unrelated to Enigma or anything else
First, to be clear, Turing's contribution to the war effort & the history of computing were enormous. But he did not break enigma. His machines massively speeded up the process and made it possible to use the advances others had made. Secondly, he wasn't castrated BECAUSE of his contributions, in fact noone knew about it because Bletchley was classified until 20 years after he died.
Let's be 100% clear, Turing's contributions to the war effort and the history of computing were enormous
Is it though? I mean, I live here and I see loads of obviously trans people seemingly living their best lives. Which means there must be loads more that I can't tell are trans just by sight, right? There never used to be this many visibly trans people, at least not willing to be out and proud in public, so seems things are getting better to me. I'm not totally up on the TERF stuff, but I do know that predates JKR's involvement by a long way. You can't hold her responsible for that
I've always been confused about this, what has she done that has hurt anyone? I mean agree, disagree with her opinions fine, but what's she actually done?
